Today in human geography class, we started a new topic called "cultural geography." At first, I did not know what it meant, but we briefly started talking about it in class. We mainly talked about nations, and how they are distinguished locations with people who have similar feeling when functioning in society. For example, in New York, people tend to be loud, and some times mean. Different nations/states are going to have different points of view in things, but that does not mean that they will not be helpful to one another. For example, in the event of 9/11, people from all over the United States supported people from New York, despite their differences.
It is a really interesting topic, and I like it. But despite this, I am not sure about the whole meaning of cultural geography. I can't wait for the next class to find out. Or maybe I can, but you get the point. Also, today we saw a silly cartoon on the names of all the countries in the world, and it was interesting to see that things have changed geographically since the release of the film.
Anyway, I hope to see where this unit takes us...
PS: I got a ding holy spaghetti noddles finally yesss hoepefully I get more dings before the nickel (quarter) ends.
